Verde Cabinet Studio — Project Planning Checklist
Prepare the Project Before the Drawings Begin.
A practical checklist for gathering the information the studio needs for an initial scope review. This is a planning resource, not a fabrication measurement service.

Project overview
The basics that let the studio understand what is being built and for whom.
- Project name
- Project address or city
- Primary contact
- Project type
- Rooms included
- New construction or remodel
- Current project phase
- Preferred installation window
- Homeowner, designer, architect, builder, or remodeler involvement
Drawings and documentation
Whatever exists is useful. Nothing here has to be complete before you send it.
- Architectural plans
- Interior elevations
- Relevant floor plans
- Appliance specifications
- Inspiration or design references
- Existing finish schedule
- Desired cabinet construction
- Material or finish direction
Incomplete drawings can still be submitted for an initial review. Scope, coordination, and pricing accuracy depend on the documentation available at the time of review.
Planning measurements
Rough planning dimensions help the studio understand the space. They are not fabrication dimensions.
- Overall wall lengths
- Ceiling heights
- Door and window locations
- Soffits and beams
- Floor-to-ceiling variation
- Plumbing locations
- Electrical locations
- Gas connections
- Ventilation and ducting
- HVAC registers
- Baseboards, casing, and existing trim
- Other fixed obstructions
Planning dimensions are for initial scope review only. Final fabrication dimensions must be field-verified and approved through the project documentation process.
Appliance and equipment coordination
Appliances and equipment should be selected early enough for the cabinetry to be coordinated accurately. Late changes travel through the whole drawing set.
- Manufacturer
- Exact model number
- Specification sheet
- Required clearances
- Ventilation requirements
- Electrical, gas, and plumbing needs
- Panel-ready requirements
- Service-access requirements
Storage and function priorities
Mark what matters. This is how the interior of the cabinetry gets planned.
- Waste and recycling
- Pantry pull-outs
- Blind-corner access
- Tray and baking-sheet dividers
- Spice storage
- Utensil organization
- Sink-base organization
- Appliance garages
- Mixer or appliance lifts
- Coffee and beverage storage
- Laundry hampers
- Wardrobe accessories
- Office filing and cable management
Organization systems are confirmed per project based on cabinet size, clearances, hardware compatibility, scope, and approved drawings.
Finish and sample preparation
Direction is enough at this stage. Final selection happens against physical samples.
- Paint or stain direction
- Wood species
- Grain direction
- Sheen preference
- Decorative panel or laminate interest
- Decorative hardware selection
- Existing materials that must coordinate
- Sample approval status
Screens and photographs are not substitutes for physical sample approval. Colour, sheen, and grain all read differently in the room they will live in.
